A group of ideal believers living in Manjeri town decided to stick together under a single banner to promote and propagate principles of Islam, Islamic way of life and clear understanding of islam. For this purpose they constituted them selves and formed a Trust under the name and style'Isha-Athul Islam Trust'. The Trust was registered in 1980.
1 . Primary and secondary Madrassa ;- As a primary step the Trust established a Madrassa in 1980 itself, which was inaugurated by late Korambayil Ahammad Haji. In the primary level we provide preliminary and basic knowledge of Islam. In the secondary stage detailed study of Qur'an and Hadith is included in the syllabus. The working hours of madrassa are between7 Am and 9 Am except Sundays. The quality achieved is high compared to that of other institutions existing in this area. At present two hundred students are studying.
2. Mubarak Masjid ; In 1985, the committee purchased a plot adjacent to Madrassa and started construction of Mubarak Masjid. The Masjid was inaugurated by late A.K Abdul Khader Moulavi on 21 st February, 1986 with first congregational prayer. Now the two-storied Masjid is extending facilities to hundreds, for their prayers. More over it has become a cultural centre of the Muslims of the Locality.

Major Activities of the Trust:-
A) Qur' an learning centre:- The centre is working under Madrassa. It conducts classes separately for men and women once in a week. Special coaching is given on Sundays. Examinations are held in every year. A good number of men and women have gained knowledge Qur'an and Hadith through this centre.
B) Islamic library and study centre:- The centre works in the campus of Masjidul Imam Shafi. Number of religious books are kept in the library and distributing to public. Debate, discussions, seminars on issue-based topics is organizing periodically. Not only the locals but also the people of suburban areas are the main users of the library.
C) Islamic relief fund:- is another major activity of the Trust. The working capital of this fund is Rs 5 Lakh. Loan is sanctioned to the deserving people and peace-meal repayment is allowed without collecting interest or any kind of service charges. The totalo number of beneficiaries is 500.
D) Medical Aid Fund:- This fund is using for the treatment of poor patients. Medicines and allied items are supplied to very deserving patients, after assessing their financial back ground. Food is supplied to by-standers of poor patients admitted in Government district hospital Manjeri. Apart from the major activities explained above, the Trust assists poor students for their education. Books and other study materials are supplying to them in the beginning of each academic year. Every year an average of 75 students are benefited by this scheme.
Da'wa work is one of the main activities of the Trust. Trained and taught volunteers are engaged in the service of preaching of Islamic principles and thought. Awareness classes and campus are conducted regularly on vacations for students and general public. Id-meet, classes for Haji pilgrims are also organized.
Our next dream is to convert present day school into residential one. There is no residential school in and around Manjeri. If residential facilities are provided more students are likely to join in this institution from other areas. We propose to train our students fom the campus itself and make enable them to appear in various competitive examinations like medicine, engeneering, management and civil service etc. along with their regular studies. For this purpose hostel accommodation is required, that is why the project is submitted. We hope that Islamic Development Bank Jeddah can assist to fulfill our dream.
May God Almighty support us in this humble venture. |
